I'M READING BIG BROTHER

Orwell compares 2 passages which say the same thing. He shows us how the good one contains 49 words and 60 syllables and the second one contains 38 words and 90 syllables. He says how it's easier to write this way because you're just  connecting long phrases that have already been connected. The words these people use show no emotional meaning which make it look like they don't care about the details of things. In political writing the writer writes as if he is some rebel expressing his private opinions. Political writing has to be made up of euphemisms because the reality is to harsh for some people. The words used are vague and sound less scary. People in politics can't outright agree with things such as "justification of murder from a government" so they'll mask their words with euphemisms.
